Processing 25kg Finished Oolong Tea By Machines

Oolong tea processing steps are: withering, tossing, steaming, rolling, molding and drying.

                                  Each day process 100kg fresh tea leaves, the water content of tea leaves is 75% - 80% .

Step 1 : Outdoor withering
Oolong tea withering time need about 30 minutes, the best time to choose is 4:00pm - 5:00pm, flip the tea leaf every 10 minutes, make the water content drop to about 78%, the aroma of tea began to show.

After outdoor withering, the weight of fresh tea leaves are about 91kg.

Each sieve can put 2.5kg fresh tea leaves, each rack has 20pcs sieves, so 1 rack can put 50kg tea leaves, you need 2 sets wither rack ( 40pcs sieves ).

Step 2 : Indoor withering and tossing
Process 91kg fresh tea leaves, the tea tossing machine can put about 60kg tea leaves per time, so we recomend you use 2 sets DL-6CYQT-6015  oolong tea shanking machine.

Put the tea leaves in to oolong tea tossing machine, rotate about 3-4 minutes, and put the leaves on the sieve, move the wither racks indoors, keep indoor temperature 20℃, relative humidity 80%, indoor withering time 1.5-2 hours.

After the end of time, put the leaves in the tea tossing machine again, rotate about 5-10 minutes, and move them indoors, indoor withering time 2-2.5 hours.

After the end of time, put the leaves in the tea tossing machine again, rotate about 20-25 minutes, and move them indoors, indoor withering time 6-12 hours.

After indoor withering and tossing, the tea leaves water content drop to about 62%, the weight of tea leaves about 84kg.


Each machine can put 60kg per time, tea leaves are not half as high as bamboo, oolong tea need tossing about 3 times, each time is different.

Step 3 : Steaming
Processing 84kg tea leaves, oolong tea steaming time need about 15 minutes, 1 hour can process 4 times, each time 21kg, we recomend you use 2 sets DL-6CST-90 tea leaf steaming machine, this machine can put 10kg tea leaves per time.

After steaming process, the water content of leaves drop to 47%, the weight about tea leaves about 69kg.


This machine use gas as fuel, steaming time about 15 minutes, each time put 10kg tea leaves, steaming temperature 200-250℃.

Step 4 : Rolling
Rolling 69kg tea leaves, oolong tea rolling time need about 10 minutes, 1 hour can process 6 times, each time 11.5kg, we recomend you use 2 sets DL-6CRT-35 tea rolling machine, this machine can put 6.5kg tea leaves per time.

After tea rolling process, the weight is not change, tea leaves weight about 68kg.


Rolling barrel is 35cm, rolling time about 10 minutes, this tea kneading machine can put 6.5 kg fresh tea leaves per time.

Step 5 : Molding and deblocking
Molding 68kg tea leaves, balled granular type oolong tea need press 8-15 times ( taka an intermediate value of 11 times ), pressing time need about 3-6 minutes ( taka an intermediate value of 5 minutes ), each machine can press 23kg, so 1 hour can process 23kg, we recomend you use 2 sets DL-CCXJ-6080 granular tea pressing molding machine, and after each press process, you need deblock the tea block, so we recomend you use 1 set DL-6CSST-80 tea deblocking machine.

After molding and deblocking, the weight about tea leaves about 65kg.


Each time can put 23kg tea leaf, pressing about 11 times, press time about 5 minutes, 1 hour can process 23kg.

Step 6 : Drying
Drying 65kg tea leaves, oolong tea drying time need about 2 hours, we recomend you use 1 set DL-6CHZ-5 tea leaf drying machine, this machine can dry 80kg tea leaves per time.

After drying, the water content of tea leaves drop to 5%, easy to save.


Drying area is 6m², drying time about 2 hours, drying temperature about 75℃ - 100℃, until the water content of the leaf drop 5%, easy to store.
